Ophelia, Syra, Kaga, Nana, and Pokachi are good friends with each other. One day, without telling Ophelia, the other 4 signed her up on an expedition to the lost archipelago Lemuria. However, after encountering the princess and listening to her speech, Ophelia decided to embrace the fate, and look forward to an adventure on this unknown land.
By the gate of the flying fortress Maginia, after Ophelia joined the the other 4 girls again.
Sorry to keep you guys waiting. I’m ready now.
No problem Felia. Shall we go then?
Hooray! Adventure!
Yeah. Let’s meet the guard for the escort quest.
And so, the guild exited the city gate.

As they stepped outside the city, they are greeted by a world unlike anything they’ve ever seen. They took a deep breath of the crisp morning air, and noted that there’s not a single cloud in the sky. It’s as if fate has blessed them on their journey.
I am at a loss for words… This place is beautiful!
You can say that again.
Wheeeeee~
I wish I can live here forever.
Well, we are going to spend quite a while here, exploring the unknown.
That’s true.
Suddenly, a guard appeared accompanied by a herd of bleating goats.
Are you the Istoria Guild? I received word of you from the tavern.
Yes we are. My name is Ophelia, and this is Syra, Kaga, Nana, and the one running around is Pokachi.
Very well. I’ll be tending to the goats on this trip, so I’d like you to be our escorts.
He gestured the herd of goats, and then turned back to Ophelia.
It’s dangerous up ahead. There’s no telling what monsters we’ll run into, so make sure you’re prepared before we depart. …You appear ready, but it seems you’ve taken on two requests simultaneously, is that right?
Yes we did, we also took on the request to catch the guardian of the lake.
I see. If you’d like to take the goats, then I suggest heading north. There’s some lush plains up that way that I’m sure they’ll enjoy. I’ll be tending to the goats on the trip, so I’d like you to be our escorts. If you’re more inclined to seek out the water source, you’ll want to head west. I’ll leave you to decide what to do first.
With that, the guard awaited Ophelia’s decision.
So guys, where should we go first?
Catch the big fish!
We can catch the fish any time, I don’t think we should keep Mr. soldier there waiting.
Doesn’t matter to me.
I vote for herding the goats as well. The fluffy goats are so cute!
Sorry pokachi, it seems like others want to herd the goats first. We can catch the fish after alright?
Fineeeee…
Ok, Mr. Soldier, we’ll accompany you to herd the goats first.
Very well. Then let us head out.
The guild followed a path forged by those who have traversed these plains before them. Soon, they reached a large open area. The warm sunlight and the echoing of bird calls are nearly enough to make them forget the dangers that are indigenous to these lands.
Yes, here is perfect.
They stopped at the plain. The herd of goats began to spread out across the area, happily grazing at the grass and plants that hug the fertile ground. The goats came in all shapes and sizes. The warm air, the pleasant breeze, the rustling trees, and the quiet bleating of the goats… The pleasant pastoral scene made everyone happy and dreamy. They almost forgot that they were here on an important mission.
Several hours passed, and as the sun began to set, the guild decided it is time to head back to Maginia. However, before they can start their journey back, the soldier rushed up to them.
We’ve got a problem! One goat has gone missing. Will you help me find it?
Woah! With so many goats here, you can tell if just a single one has gone missing?
Yes, I am specially trained for handling the goats. I have them all memorised. The one missing is a young and feisty goat named Bighorn. He must have ran away when I fell asleep earlier.
Oh no, which way do you think the goat may have gone?
From what I see, he must have headed towards the city, the forest, or the valley.
Should we split up?
I wanna go to the valley!
I don’t think splitting up is an good idea. For all we know, there could be hostile creatures. It’s better to stick together.
Yes I agree, since Pokachi wants to go to the valley, let’s all go to the valley then.
Alright.
Thank you guys. I will make sure none of the other goats run off while you guys search for Bighorn. Good luck and be careful out there.
The guild started off towards the valley in search of the lost goat. A goat could easily navigate the rocky valley. However, try as they may, Bighorn was nowhere to be found.
Where are you Bighorn?
Bah. I don’t think it’s here. Also, I scraped my knee.
Yeah, let’s head back and look at another direction. I don’t think there’s anything here.
Thus the guild gave up on this area and headed back to the herd.
Any luck?
Unfortunately no. But don’t worry, we’ll try the forest next.
Alright. Thank you.
This time, the guild headed off towards the forest in search of the lost goat. They prayed the goat has not come this way. It would be difficult to find him in this dense forest. However, Suddenly, they heard the sharp bleating of a terrified goat in the trees! Fortunately, the bleating led them in the direction of the lost goat. As they rushed through the trees, they spotted a goat, cornered in a clearing by a monstrous creature.
This must be Bighorn!
So the guild drew their weapons!
Frontline:
Backline: N/A
Bighorn is getting attacked, let’s go! Miasma Armor!
Pokachi gathered a shroud of miasma to surround her and dashed off towards the monsters.
Wait Poka! It’s dangerous.
Ophelia also drew out her sword and chased after Pokachi.
Now we are talking!
Kaga checked her gun and chased after Pokachi.
Wait guys!
Syra sighed but also followed.
Mm… Interesting monster, I think I will call them… Rabid Koalas.
Nana held tight to her wand, and graciously walked after the rest.
Let’s see… Fairy Robe!
Huh? I don’t think that did anything…?
It’s a skill that fully heals us!
Err… But none of us got hurt.
Wha? Oops!
Focus guys, this is not a training.
Ophelia raised her shield, and as she started casting her skill, Pokachi jumped over her.
Miasma Tsunami!
Pokachi gathered a huge amount of miasma, and send waves after waves of miasma towards the Koalas.
Poka!
Yeah?
That was dangerous!
Don’t worry, don’t worry! Now that they are weakened, let’s finish them!
I’m aiming.
You are too slow, my spell is ready! Astrosign!
Nana caused a huge explosion between the 2 koalas. The explosion was really fierce, it event caused a few trees to fall. Obviously, the koalas couldn’t stand this much power and fell to the ground.
That was easy!
Whew.
Yes, but we used our force break!
Yeah. I think it’s a little overkill.
Indeed, and now we can’t use anymore forces until we return to town.
So you are saying we shouldn’t use our force break until we really need it?
Yes.
Okay.
Let’s loot our rewards.
Oh yeah, that woman from the shopped said she’d be interested in the things we get from our adventures.
Already on it. I’m gonna cut off the Furs and the Claws from the Koalas. These should sell for a good price.
We should also record the behaviours of these monsters, so that we can pass down the knowledge to other adventurers and to reference ourselves.
Yeah, I was planning to do that already.
Thanks Nana. Syra, could you see if Bighorn is okay?
Sure!
What about meee?
Mmm… Could you help Kaga to carry stuff?
Yeah!
With that, Kaga and Pokachi went to carve the loots from the dead Koalas, Syra went to check on Bighorn, Nana took out her notebook and started writing in the details of the monster, and Ophelia looked over everyone else and let out a sigh of relief from the battle.

(Our first real battle… Uwa… My heart is still beating very fast… All adventurers have to deal with this constantly? They are amazing!)
After around 20 minutes, Kaga and Pokachi came back with a big backpack, Syra came back with Bighorn bleating beside her, and Nana closed her notebook.
We got 2 Pink Furs and 2 Koala Claw Arm!
Yeah. They were in perfect condition for the carve!
Bighorn here is fine as well.
And I recorded the monster’s detail in my notebook, I’ve named it Rabid Koala.
Good job guys. Let’s head back then.
The guild, with the goat in toll, headed back to meet the soldier.
Great tree preserve! A monster was attacking him!? Thank you for rescuing him! I’ll be sure to tell my superiors what you have done for us! Really, thank you so much!
You must really like that goat!
Of course. It was the first goat I was put in charge of! Anyways, our work for the day is done, Let’s head back to Maginia.
The soldier began to lead the goats down the path to the flying city, singing praises of the guild’s bravery all the while.
He really likes that goat it seems.
I already said that!
So fish now?
Oh yeah. I almost forgot about that…
Alright, let’s go to the lake now.
Yay fish!
Thus the guild headed west towards the lake. After passing through the grassy plains, they reached a small lake. Its surface gleaming with sunlight. They can see fish of all shapes and sizes swimming beneath the surface of the crystalline water. However, they saw no sign of a lake guardian.

(Does the guardian really exist? Or did we get the wrong lake?)
Ophelia pondered as she stares at the lake. A duck glided across the calm surface. Suddenly, the bird began to thrash about as something violently dragged it underwater!

(What? Was the bird just attacked by the guardian of the lake?)
Poor duck…
That explains the request.
Let’s catch it now!
Yeah, let’s catch it so the civilians can make use of this lake.
Can I do it?
Yeah sure Poka, here’s the rod and the baits from Kvasie. You know how to use it right?
Yeah!
Pokachi took the rod Ophelia received at the tavern and readied it in a flash! She then casted the line into the center of the lake, close to where the bird was swimming before. However, as they wait and wait, but nothing bites.
I’m bored!
I Think it might be full from the duck earlier…
Or maybe it only likes ducks and not worms?
Or maybe it swam to somewhere else.

(Or maybe Poka’s lack of fishing skills… I feel mean for thinking that)
It is clear that they won’t catch anything at this rate.
Wriggle the line a bit maybe? I heard back home that it helps when nothing is baiting.
No no. That’ll just scare it away, it’s better to sit still and wait patiently.
Actually, toss in the ground meat we had. More food equals more likely the bait.
How about this, let’s try each of your suggestions in order. Let’s start with wriggle the line.
Sure boss!
Pokachi started wriggling the line furiously to try and attract the giant fish. In fact she was wriggling so fast it was creating a mini whirlpool. She began a cycle of reeling, pausing, wriggling, then pausing again. Pokachi continued, sweat beading on her forehead, but the guardian of the lake did not go for the bait.
Poka, that’s not wriggling!
Yeah, that’s not what I had in mind…
I didn’t know you can create a mini whirlpool with fishing rod.
Bah. I hate this, this is no fun!
Despite her efforts, it seemed like she had failed to catch the guardian of the lake. Exhausted, she began to reel in the line…
Let’s try something else now.
As Ophelia said that, something big grabbed the bait, tugging on the rod and bending it forward! Pokachi grabbed the rod, but the fish on the line began to drag her towards the lake! Only one thing could be big enough to pull this hard: the guardian of the lake!
We caught something! Quickly, Pokachi, reeled it in!
I can’t believe it worked…
I bet the mini whirlpool took away the fish’s energy, and it got hungry again.
Pokachi regarded the submerged guardian with a fierce glare, and strained against the rod, desperately trying to pull the fish closer, but the guardian yanked at the line! As these 2 battle for superiority, the fishing rod began to strain and creak.
Wah! The fishing rod is breaking! What do I do?
Panicking, Pokachi quickly stopped pulling on the rod. It didn’t look like she can pull the fish out of the lake like this. As the stalemate continued, Kaga suddenly cried out in realization.
Take a bite at this!
She pulled out her gun and aimed at the gigantic fish. Then, she fired a bullet at the shadow beneath the water’s surface!
The bullet struck the giant fish, startling it! As it faltered, Pokachi yanked on the line! Despite the guardian’s size and ferocity, the bullet wound was too much for the beast to bear, and it soon lost the strength to fight back. Pokachi pulled the fish out of the water. It sported rows upon rows of sharp teeth, and was easily larger than the tallest man they know.
Gotta say I’m impressed by that shot.
Yeah nice shot Kaga!
Glad we have you in the party Kaga.
Woohoo!
Thanked to their efforts, the guardian will no longer threaten or attack anyone who drew close to the lake. The city’s civilians can now safely use this lake as a source of water.
Can we take the fish back?
It’s a little big though, how do we carry it? And why?
Don’t worry, I got this!
I can help too!
Don’t expect me to touch it.
It can serve as proof of our success.
Mm.. Okay, Kaga and Poka, would you two carry the fish home?
Of course!
Yay
Since they completed both requests. All that remained is to report their success to Kvasir. So they headed back to the city.
There were a bunch of people laughing and cheering as Kaga and Pokachi carried the fish across the street.

(Uwa… This is embarrassing)
Eventually, they arrived at Kvasir’s Tavern
Good work out there! Did you catch that guardian?
I did!
Woah, is that the one!? It looks like a tiger fish. Tiger fish are a violent, carnivorous species. Thank goodness you took care of this one! You should hear the stories people are telling about you. Everyone who saw you carrying it are calling you the Fearless Fishermen!
I knew it was a bad idea… Why did I let them talk me into carrying the fish back
Woooo!
Just an FYI, I didn’t do anything when they caught it, so don’t include me in it.
Maybe I shouldn’t have supported the decision to carry it back.
Eh. I can live with that.
You might not have planned on getting famous for a fish, but in any case, that bigwig is very happy you took care of it. Here’s your reward! Thanks again!
Kvasir handed 3 Theriaca β that he took out from his apron.
Oh, also, about the flock of goats…
Hey, looks like you’re all done with that request! Good work out there! I heard you found a lost goat. The soldier was talking to everyone about it, which got everyone talking about it! “Istoria Guild, the Goat Grabbers!” Maybe we’ll start seeing a lot more goat-related requests!
That soldier is talking about it?
It’s better than the fisherman, at least goats are cute.
Huh? I didn’t grab any goats.
…
Eh. I can live with this one as well.
Kvasir searched inside his apron pocket again, and handed Ophelia a Nectar.
Wow, you completed two requests in a row. You’re pretty dang good!
Hmm, maybe I should ask you about this other one too… I’ve got another request that I’d like you to accept.
Kvasir handed Ophelia another poster.

This request wants you to find a missing person. A medic went to gather some herbs and hasn’t been seen since. If someone doesn’t go looking for her soon, we might not find her in one piece! Sounds dangerous, doesn’t it? I can’t tell you more about it until you accept the request, so I’d appreciate it if you did.
Of course! We accept! Right Fi?
Eh? This sounds serious, can we really handle it?
Of course!
Anything to get rid of “Fearless Fisherman” is fine.
Don’t worry Felia, we got this. It’s a missing person we are talking about here. We gotta save her before anything bad happens.
Adventure! Adventure!
*sigh* Kvasie, we accept the request. Please tell us more.
Ah, you’re accepting that request! Let me give you the details , then! A medicine shop in the city put up a request for an adventurer to gather herbs for them. A new adventurer, much like yourselves, eagerly accepted the request, but she still hasn’t come back. She could be attacked by monsters or thieves all the way out there!
That’s horrible! We should go at once!
I actually wanted to sell the Koala stuff we got earlier, Napier’s firm is on the way to the gate anyways, so it shouldn’t take long.
That’s why we’d like someone to go look for her. You’re no monster or thief, are you now?
Of course not!
What? You’re not? Alrighty, then! Though they do say it takes a thief to catch a thief.
…
Here’s some information that will help you. The Medic’s name is Birgitta, and she went into the Verdant Forest. Go find Birgitta in the Verdant Forest! Good luck out there!
Thanks Kvasie, we’ll need that luck.
After the guild left the tavern, they made a quick stop at Napier’s firm.
Well, if it isn’t the fearless fishermen! What can I do for you?
Hey! Stop that! We are here to sell some Koala parts we carved earlier.
Goat grabber it is! Let’s see, 2 piles of Pink Furs and 2 Koala Claw Arms. I can give you 28 entals for that.
Stop that too!
And as for the transaction, we’ll take it.
Oh, by the way, now that you’ve sold me some Pink Furs, I wedger I can make Pink Rods. What do you say, would you like to purchase one?
Ooh, this looks much better than the plain staff earlier!
Great! That’ll be 170 entals, and we’ll make it with 1 Pink Fur.
Eh? That’s quite expensive!
Yes, but with the pink fur decorating the staff, it’s even more powerful than a regular staff!
Please Fifi, can we get it? It looks really good in my hands!
But if we make the purchase, we’ll only have 3 entals left, which is not even enough to stay in the Inn!
Don’t worry, don’t worry! If we finish the request, we’ll get 150 entals as reward. That should be plenty! We can also sell this wand I’ve been using.
I can give you 10en for that wand.
What? This wand should worth at least 20en!
Nah. All wands are 10en. You can check with any other merchants.
Fine fine! so 150en + 10en from the wand is 160en. That should be plenty right?
But only if we finish the request…
I’ll look extra hard to find Birgitta if you buy me the rod!
You are not going to leave here unless I buy the pink rod aren’t you?
Of course!
Don’t say it like you are proud of it! *sigh*… Fine, we’ll buy the Pink Rod.
Don’t worry! You won’t regret it! Hee hee hee.
Napier handed over a pink rod to Nana.
This rod is so cute!
Huh… You already had this rod made. Why didn’t you let us purchase it before?
Well, I wasn’t lying when I said we need pink furs to make them, so I’m only willing to sell you the finished product after you have sold me the required material to make more. Otherwise, we will run out of stock!
I see…
Oh by the way, if you can get me some Purple Beast Fangs, I can sell you Culverin, a much better pistol than that Tedutsu you are using there.
Huh? Where can I get a Purple Beast Fang?
Beats me. You are the adventurers!
I’ll keep that in mind then. Thanks!
No problem! Hee hee hee.
I think she’s just trying to sell us stuff. Also we only have 13 entals now…
Let’s go to Verdant Forest! Chop chop, there’s a missing person we need to save!

(Sometimes I feel like I’m too soft on them)
And with that, the guild left the gate again in search of the missing Medic in Verdant Forest.
It took the guild a while to reach Verdant Forest… And after proceeding through the darkness of the forest for a short while, they paused…
I’m tired…
Just a bit more Poka, we’ve already arrived at Verdant Forest, so we just need to look for Birgitta now. Though this place is quite big…
If someone didn’t use our Inn money for a pretty little rod…
Guys! I heard something!
You are just too barbaric to appreciate these.
Stop it you two! This quest is important! We must find and save the medic Birgitta!
It’s true, we took the quest because we want to save Birgitta, not because we need money for the inn.
Guys!! I heard something!!
See?
I actually agree as Kaga as well, we shouldn’t have purchased that wand so hastily.
It’s too late now, we’ve already purchased it.
Mmph.

(I didn’t think it’d cost so much rift between us when I agreed to purchase it, I need to be more careful next time.)
I said… Guys!!! I heard something!!!
Ow, my ear! What’s wrong Pokachi?
Listen!
The group quieted down and listened. There was a monstrous roar and the voice of someone who was clearly engaged in battle. In particular, it sounded like someone is struggling against a dangerous beast.
Someone seems to be in trouble! Let’s go!
Ye… Yeah!
After charging to the sounds of combat as quickly as possible, they noticed a girl with a staff confronting some monsters.
Quickly!
There was no time to think! the guild drew their weapon and prepared to fight! It was 2 very weird looking flies.
Frontline:
Backline: N/A
As usual, Pokachi gathered a shroud of miasma in preparation for her strike. Ophelia raised her shield.
Front Guard!
As soon as Ophelia casted her skill, the first fly attacked into her. Luckily, front guard activated and a miniature shield appeared in front of Ophelia. While it couldn’t prevent the full damage, it has reduced the impact caused by the fly. The second fly also flew in and punched into Syra. Similarly, a miniature shield appeared in front of Syra and reduced the amount of damage she would have taken.
Oof… They are fast!
Nice guard!
Owie!
Now then. Time for the counter attack! Eat this!
Nana conjured a big fire ball in her palm, and threw it towards the flies. The first fly got hit with the full blast. There was sizzling sound coming from the fly after it was hit and it let out an ear piercing screech. The second fly wasn’t so lucky either, it got hit by the dispersing flames. Though it took less damage than the second fly, it still screeched loudly as it tried to recover from the fire.
Nice! They are weak to fire!
Syra steadied herself and dashed forward to slash the first fly. At the same time, Pokachi jumped out with her scythe.
Wheeee!
With her paralyzation empowered scythe, Pokachi cutted both screaming flies down. The first fly manages to get up on its feet, but just barely. The second fly however, just lied there, twitching in paralyzation. Then, a bullet flew past Pokachi and hitted the twitching fly, blasting a hole in the arm of the fly. It is clear that this fly won’t be able to use its arm any time soon…
The second fly won’t cause anymore trouble, focus on the first one!
Both of them are weak. Let’s rush the first fly, and then finish off the second fly!
Pokachi, in her miasma armor, was very quick, and she was able to finish off the first fly.
That’s one down!
And one to go!
Syra smacked on the second fly hard with her pink rod, however, it doesn’t seem like it did much. The fly was not amused being hit on the head and tried to counter attack. However, as hard as it tried, its arms still limped. Soon the paralyzation kicked in and it starts to fall to the ground again. While it is falling, Kaga shot another bullet right through the fly’s eye. This time, after it fell to the ground, it became motionless.
Both down!
Nice!
Hooray!
Whew, that was tough!
Yeah… They hit really hard!
That said, good job guys!
Of course!
Okay now, Kaga and Poka, will you 2 carve for materials again? Nana, will you record the enemy data? And Syra, please tend your wound. I’ll be fine here.
Okay.
Umm…
It was then Ophelia realized there was someone else here, someone they came here to save after hearing the sounds of battle. She lowered her weapon, and turned to the girl who had been attacked. The girl looked just like the portrait from the poster!
Th.. Thank you everyone. I’m Birgitta, a Medic.
She appeared to be injured, although not severely.
I was told that this task would be simple… Seems like I’m not cut out for this.
Ah! Don’t worry! I think you did fine surviving this long against those monsters. You saw how 5 of us got tossed around by them!
However, Birgitta was looking around the immediate area, growing more and more distressed with each passing second.
What’s wrong?
Ahh!
U… Um, excuse me, but… Laika’s missing! I brought her with me because I thought it wouldn’t be that dangerous out here… She’s just like a little sister to me, and…
Don’t worry, I’ll help you look for her!

(Seems like we’ve found the missing medic Birgitta, but now we need to find the missing doggo Laika…)
Ophelia looked around, and Laika is nowhere to be found…
Oi, we got 2 Steel Proboscis from the flies! Mm? Who is this?
I’ve finished the codex for the Muscle Fly! I made sure to call out its tackle is quite painful… Who is this girl?
I’ve healed myself, are you sure you don’t want any heals… And this is?
Thanks guys, and this is Birgitta, the person we were looking for.
Ohh! Nice, that means our request is complete!
However, it seems like her doggo Laika is missing, so now we are looking for Laika.
Ugh…
We should help her! She looks distressed out here all alone.
I don’t think she is willing to go back without Laika, and if she doesn’t go back, we can’t finish our request.
Then let’s help her!
Fine fine…
Mm… I recall seeing some bushes to the north have been disturbed… Seems like something’s run through that area. Could it be?
Or maybe that’s where the muscle flies came.
Nah, my feeling tells me it is where Laika went.
Umm…
Don’t worry, we found a possible lead to where Laika might have gone, we’ll help you find Laika!
Upon hearing this, Birgitta looked much more relieved.
So, you’re called Istoria Guild… Well, thank you so much! But, um… May I join you on the search? I won’t be able to fight, so I’m sorry I can’t be the most helpful…
No problem! We’ll handle the fighting!
The worried girl gave Ophelia a weak smile, then they headed towards the disturbed bushes to the north. Little did they know, they were headed into an ancient ruin filled with mystery and danger.
